Smoking Fetish
Just a week ago people had a lot to say about a very public display of a fetish. Kate Moss concluded the Louis Vuitton show at fashion week by walking the runway in a sexy outfit from a collection built around corsets, patent leather boots, handcuffs, and other objects of desire. The object of desire that stood out the most was the cigarette she smoked and seemed to very much enjoy in her strut down the runway.
Today it seems that more and more people have developed a smoking fetish. This fetish is driven by arousal reached by watching another person smoke and savor a cigarette. There are websites dedicated just too sexy videos of men and women smoking. When did smoking become sexy?
Years and years ago there was a time when smoking was looked at as cool. You couldn’t watch a movie without seeing the actors constantly holding a cigarette in their hands. Times have definitely changed. You can no longer smoke in restaurants and public places. The majority of people now look at smoking as a disgusting and selfish habit. There still seems to be a small percentage of people who can’t help but enjoy watching another person smoke. Some don’t even smoke themselves.
It’s a shame that a high fashion model was used to make smoking seem sexy. Teenagers do not need to see role models make smoking look so sensuous. Is this really what we want teens to look up to?
