Positive Attitude Equals Positive Results

On average, it is said that people take a total of seven attempts to quit smoking.  Upon hearing this news the primal response to many people would entail a pessimistic view. People are said to have 60,000 thoughts per day; about two-thirds of these thoughts are negative thoughts.  So statistically speaking, if somebody told you that it took seven attempts to quit smoking, you would respond with the feeling of never being able to quit, Therefore, never quitting.  However, with a positive attitude, the idea of quitting seems plausible. Think of the situation, as the seventh attempt being lucky number seven, be eager to get to the seventh attempt.

Many experiences from smoking can at first seem like negatives; however, every situation can be flipped to reflect a positive view and can be a learned experience, so instead of looking at past attempts as failures, see these attempts as experience.   Everything that is done wrong, can offer you something to be learned. Therefore, use these experiences to your advantage for the future. People may give up quitting because cravings are strong and they want to give into them. The stronger the cravings are, the closer you are to quitting. Nothing gets easier before it gets harder.  Therefore, take these cravings as a feeling of accomplishment of smoking one less cigarette, rather than cravings to smoke one more cigarette.  A number of cigarettes smoked in the past.  Instead of looking at the past and the thousands of cigarettes smoked, use this to your advantage! Use this number that you estimated as motivation.   Think about your health and how you can improve it, never just settle.

Even if the seventh opportunity is not enough for you, turn unlucky thirteen into lucky thirteen.  Have a positive attitude to quit now.
