Dukan Diet
All of a sudden there is all this hype surrounding the Dukan Diet. It has been very popular in France and the book is just days away from its release in the US.
The Dukan Diet is what people are calling France’s Atkins or South Beach. It is rumored that Kate Middleton is on the diet to lose weight fast for the quickly approaching royal wedding.
So… will it work?
The Dukan Diet has the dieter cut out entire food groups at certain times. This will cause weight loss but is a very hard thing to maintain. At first, it may seem easy to cut out complete food groups, but after time your body will get bored and start to crave all the foods that are not allowed.
The diet works in weekly cycles. It does allow for dessert and wine on some days, but most of the days the carbohydrate intake is very limited. You might as well forget about fruit… due to its high carbohydrate content. Fruit is very important to a person’s nutrition because it’s high in fiber and helps the body to keep things moving, but it also contains countless vitamins and minerals.
The Dukan Diet is broken down into phases much luck Atkins. It changes the allowances and disallowances of certain food groups for each stage. When it starts to take away fruits and vegetables a person will start to feel tired and have a lack of energy. This can ultimately slow down the digestive process.
The only thing in this diet that I believe in 100% is to drink A LOT of water… Who can argue with that?
